Research Assistant

Job Description: 
The research assistant will provide research support to Professor John J. Donohue at Yale Law School.  Professor Donohue will be visiting at Stanford Law School next year, so this position will be at Stanford starting this summer at a date to be determined.  This is an excellent opportunity for those considering law or graduate school in the future.  This is a full-time position that requires a commitment of at least one year and offers competitive benefits and compensation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.   Determine best methodologies and design to enhance the productivity of research projects. 
2.   Investigate and evaluate sources of data for empirical projects. Compile databases and datasets when needed.
3.   Utilize statistical software programs to support empirical studies relating to law and policy.
4.   Perform statistical analyses on large social science data sets and report findings.
5.   Support teaching activities, when appropriate.
6.   Review and contribute to academic publications, reports, and policy analyses.
7.   Interact with internal and external contacts, including faculty and other researchers.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences, mathematics, or a related field preferred. Some experience with empirical studies in the social sciences preferred. 

Skills and Abilities:
1.   Must be organized and highly detail-oriented.
2.   Experience with quantitative data analysis, statistics, or econometrics preferred.
3.   Experience with statistical software, such as Stata, SAS, or SPSS.
4.   Must be able to work independently and within a team.
5.   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6.   Must have an interest in law, policy, and economics.
